I've been following the case of Carlton Phillips for a while now, and I can't help but think about the impact it must have had on his community. The fact that this tragedy happened so close to home—right there on North Donmoor Avenue—makes me wonder how the neighborhood is coping. My heart goes out to Carlton's family and friends, and also to the residents who had to witness such violence so near to where they live. It's a sad reminder of how drug-related activities can ripple through a neighborhood, affecting not just those directly involved but everyone around them. I hope the arrests of D’Angelo Givens and Mekhi Palmer-Davis can bring some sense of safety back to the area. It's encouraging to see law enforcement making strides, but I can only imagine how difficult it is for a community to heal after such loss. I truly hope justice for Carlton might bring a little peace to those who knew and loved him.
