I've been following the tragic case of Lakelia Purvis for a while, and my heart truly goes out to her family. I recently saw a post from her sister Sonja Perry advocating for stricter laws on juvenile gun offenses, and it got me thinking. The fact that a teenager was involved in such a serious crime is deeply troubling. I genuinely support the family's efforts to push for legal changes. We often hear about the impact of gun violence, but seeing a family so determined to prevent it from happening again really hits home. Has anyone heard of any legislative progress being made in Louisiana because of their advocacy? I hope their voices are reaching the right people.
I'm really disturbed by the fact that this terrible incident was livestreamed. It's unimaginable for Lakelia's family and friends to know that such a personal and devastating event was shared across social media for anyone to see. I can't begin to fathom the added trauma that brings. It's a sad reminder of how technology, while connecting us, can also amplify our deepest pains. The emotional toll on Lakelia's loved ones must be immense, and my heart truly goes out to them. I hope they find some solace in the advocacy work they're doing, and I hope we see legislative changes that will prevent another family from enduring such pain. Has anyone heard if platforms are taking action to prevent something like this from being shared again?
