Hey all, I've been going through some details about Fred Howard's disappearance and something struck me as odd. What's up with Fred leaving behind all those hiking essentials? From what I've read, Fred seemed like an experienced hiker, so leaving without his pack and boots, especially from a cabin out in Dupont, doesn’t add up for me. Anyone else think this is unusual? Has anyone heard more about those reported sightings of him in Juneau on the same day, August 10th, 2009? The timeline feels so tight! Would love to hear more thoughts or any insights people might have surrounding that day.
I’ve been following Fred Howard's case since it was first reported back in 2009, and I can’t stop thinking about those last reported sightings of him in downtown Juneau. It’s baffling to me how someone could just disappear after being seen in a relatively populated area. Does anyone have more info on what he was wearing or carrying when he was spotted? Maybe there's a chance that if someone recalls those details, it could jog some memories. It seems odd that he would leave the cabin with all his belongings only to end up in town with no trace afterward. Given the time that has passed, what do you all think could have happened from then to now? Any theories?
Has anyone else looked into the sightings of Fred Howard in downtown Juneau on August 10th, 2009? It seems odd to me that he would leave all his stuff behind at the cabin and then just vanish. Especially since his family expected to find him there. Were these sightings ever confirmed by multiple witnesses, or are they all from a single source? I wonder if anyone checked nearby hostels or hotels during that time. It’s almost like he planned to disappear, but why leave all his gear behind? Maybe he was meeting someone? Really curious to hear your thoughts or if anyone has dug deeper into those initial sighting reports.
