It's so incredibly sad to think about how Russell Ricou Jr.'s life was cut short over an argument. My heart goes out to his family and friends who are still dealing with the aftermath of this senseless tragedy. I was reading about the role of the crime camera footage in this case, and it just makes you realize how crucial community resources and technology have become in solving crimes these days. Without those cameras, who knows if justice would have been served? And speaking of the community, it's comforting to see the French Quarter pulling together to push back against violence. It's easy to feel helpless when things like this happen, but the way business leaders, residents, and law enforcement all rallied for Russell shows that there are people who care and want to make a difference. I hope that by sharing stories like Russell’s, there's a chance to change things for the better, one step at a time.
