Hey everyone, I've been following the case of Deangelo Molizone, and something that really struck me was the community reaction. It's clear that Dez was loved, not just by his family, but by those in his school and neighborhood who knew him. I came across a heartfelt post by one of his classmates on social media, where they described him as a kind soul with a contagious smile who lit up any room he entered.
That got me thinking about the impact a tragedy like this has on young people who suddenly lose a friend in such a violent way. Schools need to have proper support systems in place for students dealing with grief and trauma. I hope Fredrick Douglas High is providing counseling services or safe spaces for his peers to process their emotions.
Anyone here have thoughts on how schools and communities can better support young people dealing with this kind of loss? My heart goes out to Dez's family and friends during this unbelievably difficult time.
I’ve been following the tragic case of Deangelo Molizone, and I keep thinking about how his teammates at Fredrick Douglas High School must be feeling. I've read he was an aspiring athlete and his friends always said he had genuine talent and charisma both on and off the field. It’s hard to imagine the impact of losing someone like that so unexpectedly, especially at such a young age when so much of life is just beginning.
If you ever had a friend who lit up a room with their presence and made people feel seen and valued, you know the kind of hole that absence leaves behind. I hope Deangelo's friends and teammates are finding ways to support each other through this and keeping his memory alive in any way they can. I can't help but think about how crucial community support is right now, not just for his family but for everyone who knew him. If anyone has resources or experiences on how sports teams can come together during times like this, I think sharing them could be beneficial. Thoughts and love to everyone affected by this senseless tragedy.
