I was really moved when I read about Leslie Riley Jr.'s story. By all accounts, he seemed like such a beloved figure in Baton Rouge, and it’s heartbreaking to think that someone who brought joy to others through his cooking could be taken in such a senseless act of violence. I’m curious if anyone has any insight into the broader safety concerns in the Tennessee Street area? There must be so much fear now in the community. The fact that a random drive-by could happen and claim the life of someone like Leslie is just beyond tragic. It makes me think of the ripple effects this has on everyone who knew him—his family, his colleagues at LSU, and the students who probably enjoyed his meals. Just hoping that the authorities can piece it all together and bring some semblance of justice and reassurance to the community during these tough times.
