I was thinking today about how dogs are such intuitive creatures and wonder what roles they play as incidental witnesses in these tragic situations. It's chilling to know a dog was injured alongside the others in the Canal Street incident where Derrah Nelson was killed. Aside from being injured, I can’t help but think about the trauma they might experience during such violent events. Poor thing, it likely witnessed something it didn't understand and then had to deal with the aftermath. Whoever takes care of it now, I hope they’re giving it the comfort and support it needs. I know this doesn't directly involve the investigation, but it sheds a light on how far-reaching the impact of violence is. Every living being affected deserves some form of care and consideration. Hopefully, someone comes forward with information soon so we can get justice for everyone involved, including "Baby Dee."
Hey everyone,
I've been following the case of Derrah Nelson, and something that strikes me is the situation with the injured dog. It seems like the pup was just at the wrong place at the wrong time, which is unbelievably sad. Does anyone know if the dog's been okay since the incident, or if it has been reunited with its owner, or even adopted by someone? I can’t help but think about how terrified it must’ve been amidst the chaos. To those who may be close to the family or area, was the dog with someone at the time? It’s just another sad layer to this tragedy that hurts my heart. If anyone has heard anything about the dog's condition or if there are efforts to help care for it, please share. Let's hope for recovery for all involved, human or animal. Thoughts are with Baby Dee's loved ones.
I’ve been following the case of Derrah Nelson, and something that really stands out to me is the intersection where the shooting happened. Canal Street and North Derbigny is a busy area, and it’s surprising that there weren’t more witnesses or surveillance footage coming to light yet. It makes you wonder about the potential for additional camera footage from local businesses or transit cameras that could shed more light on what happened that tragic night.
It’s deeply saddening to think that such a vibrant young woman’s life was cut short at a place that so many people pass through daily. My thoughts are with Derrah's family and friends as they navigate through the pain of losing someone so special. I hope that anyone who might have seen something, or has any piece of information, no matter how small it might seem, reaches out to the authorities. Every little bit could help bring justice for Derrah and her loved ones. Keeping them all in my thoughts during this extremely challenging time.
