Did anyone else catch the dynamics of how the school and city responded to the chaos following Jerry's tragic death? It's tough to think about how the students must have felt with the homecoming game turning into such a traumatic event. Then to have the season finale moved and ultimately Albany forefeiting the game... it seems like the chaos from that night affected everyone, not just those directly involved. The backlash from school leaders and Mayor Perrette against the decision by LHSAA shows just how controversial these decisions were. The emotional impact on Jerry’s family and friends must be overwhelming. Losing someone so young and under such heartless circumstances... it's just beyond words. I hope the community can unify and help prevent things like this from happening again. It's definitely a wake-up call about the gun violence issue that many communities are facing today. My thoughts are with everyone affected.
