Has anyone else looked into the psychological assessment reports on the brother who was sent to the asylum? It seems like there were serious mental health issues going on, given the repeated suicide attempts. I can't help but feel for Patrolman Reedy's family, but at the same time, it makes me wonder about the resources available for dealing with mental health back in 1903. How much was understood about these issues, and could things have been different if there had been more support? It’s chilling to think about how many people were impacted by that one moment. Anyone have more info or thoughts on this?
