I came across the case of Detective Patrick Gill, and I can't help but think about the challenges law enforcement faced back then. It's baffling how the suspects just vanished into thin air after such a bold crime. It must have been incredibly difficult to track down criminals without the forensic tools and technology, like CCTV or DNA analysis, that we have today. It just highlights how brave officers like Detective Gill were, facing unknown dangers with essentially the tools of their wits and observation. My heart goes out to his family and the other officers who had to continue working in that environment. I wonder if there were any specific characteristics or methods they used that detectives today could still apply? It's these unsolved pieces of history that make you appreciate how far investigative work has come and the sacrifices made to get us here.
