I recently came across the case of Terrence Small, and I can't shake the thought of how unsettling it is that a person could be taken from their family so suddenly and without reason. I was particularly struck by the location of the crime. To think that someone could be gunned down in broad daylight on a street that could be any street in Dorchester is just terrifying. I feel for the community – how do you carry on with so much fear? And imagine his family, knowing this happened in a familiar place. It's a reminder of the work that needs to be done to make our neighborhoods safer. Has anyone heard of any community efforts or initiatives that started after his tragic passing? It would be comforting to know that something good could come out of such a senseless loss. Stay safe, everyone.
