Hey everyone,
I was reading up on the Fred Goetz murder and something struck me about The Minerva Cafe. It's been mentioned in a few articles as a hotspot for mobsters, which makes me wonder: why would someone like Goetz, who was likely aware that his life was in constant danger, still frequent such a location? Obviously, he probably felt some sort of invincibility or maybe it was just routine for him in that dangerous lifestyle. But given the high stakes, you'd think he'd be more cautious, right?
I can't help but feel sad for his parents. Despite the heinous crimes their son was involved in, they faced their own tough battles when their home was leveraged for his bail. It's a tragic reminder that the repercussions of crime ripple far beyond just the individual involved.
I'm curious about what you all think – was The Minerva Cafe just a calculated risk for Goetz, or was it more like being at home base for someone entrenched in that life? Why take such a risk when he had to know the potential outcome?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
Stay safe, everyone.
Hey everyone,
I've been digging into the Fred Goetz case, and one aspect that's been on my mind is how his parents, Samuel and Ottillie Goetz, must have felt during all of this. It's chilling to think about them putting up their property for his bail, only for him to jump it and leave them facing the fallout. It makes me wonder about the impact his criminal life had on his family. How do you cope with that as a parent? I can't help but feel for them, caught in this tumultuous world their son was part of, without much control over the circumstances.
It's a reminder of the many lives touched by the actions of one person in the crime world, not just the immediate victims or the perpetrators themselves. While Fred Goetz's name is infamous, the silent struggles of his family are just as real, and perhaps just as tragic in their own way.
What do you all think? Are there any other notorious figures whose families had to deal with similar fallout?
Looking forward to discussing more with you all.
