I was going through some old articles and stumbled upon Gene R. Ravenscraft's story. It's gut-wrenching to think about how he was just trying to support his growing family when everything was taken away from him so suddenly. One detail that really stands out to me is Rardon's background and how he had been flagged as "very dangerous" years before these horrific events unfolded. It’s terrifying to think that warnings from mental health professionals were ignored and someone like Rardon was able to walk free, eventually leading to tragedies like the one Gene's family had to endure. It's so important for there to be a better system that takes expert evaluations seriously to protect people like Gene and prevent future violence. My thoughts are with his loved ones, who undoubtedly still feel the impact of this horrible crime. Has anyone else dove deep into the procedural side of this case? Would love to hear thoughts on what could have been done differently.
