I was reading about the tragic case of Willie Kirk Fredd and his stockboy, Albert Pearson, and one aspect that really struck me was how the community came together in the aftermath. Despite the fear and uncertainty caused by Raymond Lee Stewart's crime spree, it's heartening to see how Rockford and Beloit rallied around the victims' families. Local businesses joined in fundraising efforts, and there were even community vigils held to honor the memories of those lost. It's always difficult to understand such senseless violence, but stories of solidarity and support remind us of the resilience and empathy in these communities. My thoughts are with the families of all the victims as they continue to deal with the impact of these events so many years later. How are the families and friends of the victims doing now? Have there been any memorials or annual events to keep their memories alive?
