I was recently reading about Ernest Likeley's case, and it got me thinking about the community response in Dorchester around that time. It's hard to comprehend the depth of pain his family must be feeling, not having any closure all these years later. I often wonder how much the environment and the atmosphere in a neighborhood like Fessenden Street can impact these cases. There was so much going on in Dorchester and Mattapan in 2010, it must have been overwhelming for residents.
The whole situation just emphasizes the importance of community involvement in solving these crimes. I hope that people who might know something can find the courage to come forward because no family should have to wait this long for justice. My heart goes out to all those affected, and I sincerely hope more awareness can lead to some answers.
Does anyone else remember the mass shooting on Woolson Street in 2010 near where Ernest Likeley was murdered? It's so distressing to think about how the violence seemed to peak during that year. I hadn't made the connection until now about how both Were events were just blocks apart. The community was really shaken, and it still haunts many of us, especially those who knew the victims. I often wonder if these events might be connected somehow, even if just by the climate of fear and tension back then. It's so important that we keep talking about these cases and supporting the efforts of the Boston Police so that Ernest and all others are never forgotten. ? Anyone have thoughts on how we might encourage more people to come forward to help solve some of these cold cases?
