I can't get over how the community came together after Dajae's tragic death. It's a terrible shame that such an amazing young person was lost due to senseless violence, but the response from his friends, family, and neighbors speaks volumes about the impact he made in his short time here. The turnout at his funeral, with nearly 2,000 people attending, really shows how deeply he touched the lives of those around him. The initiatives to combat youth violence that followed might not bring Dajae back, but they do honor his memory in such a meaningful way. I truly hope these efforts help prevent another family from experiencing the same devastating loss.
