I've been following Andrew Birch's case for a while, and one of the things that really stands out to me is the role that his vibrant personality played in his community. Knowing that someone so full of life could be lost in an instant because of a single moment of carelessness is just incredibly upsetting. Andrew was someone who showed love and kindness to everyone, whether it was helping at work or enjoying hikes with friends. It's difficult to reconcile that such an enthusiastic and joyful person is no longer around. My heart goes out to his family, especially his mom, Dawn, who had to endure the trial and sentencing on top of losing her son. No parent should have to go through that. I hope that with time, Andrew's friends and family can find some peace and remember him for all the good he brought into the world.
