I just can’t stop thinking about how the Conta family celebrated little Matthew’s birthday the night before everything happened. It’s so hard to wrap my head around the fact that one moment they were a family gathered together, celebrating a joyful occasion, and the next, this devastating tragedy hit. I think about the joy Matthew must have felt during his birthday party and how fleeting that happiness was.
It seems unimaginable that someone would do this to their own family, and I keep wondering if there were signs that John Jr. was struggling. Did anyone notice changes in his behavior at the party, or was he really good at hiding whatever was going on inside him?
