I recently came across the case of Darnall Gordon, and my heart goes out to his family and friends who are still waiting for answers. What's really disturbing is the lack of surveillance footage from the area. It's a busy neighborhood, and you'd think there'd be cameras around to catch something—anything—that could help the police. I understand people are scared to come forward, but it's heart-wrenching that such a crucial aspect of the investigation is missing, potentially keeping justice out of reach. Does anyone here know if there have been any community efforts to improve security in those stores or the neighborhood since then? It's terrifying to think a killer is still out there because vital evidence was never captured. Keeping Darnall's loved ones in my thoughts.
I've been thinking a lot about Darnall Gordon's case and the lack of closure for his family. It's incredibly frustrating to see how gun violence can disrupt lives and yet solutions seem so elusive. I know the Rogers Park area has struggled with gang violence for years, but I can't help but wonder about the dynamics at play. Are there community programs that could help at-risk youth before they get involved in gangs? Also, I’ve read elsewhere how important local input can be—are there neighbors who might feel safe enough now to provide more information, even anonymously? Sending thoughts to Darnall’s family and others affected by this tragedy. They deserve answers, and more importantly, justice.
Hi everyone,
I've been reading about Darnall Gordon's case and my heart goes out to his family and friends. I'm troubled by how the lack of witnesses and video footage have left his murder unsolved for so long. I can't imagine the frustration and pain his loved ones must feel, knowing that justice hasn't been served. It makes me wonder about the environment in Rogers Park back then and what can be done to encourage people to come forward when they have information.
Does anyone here have experience working with community groups or know of any successful strategies that have helped in similar cases? I know his family has been holding vigils and marches, which is so brave. But I can't help but think there has to be more that can be done to make people feel safe enough to speak up. Would love to hear your thoughts or any insights on the best ways for communities to address these kinds of challenges.
Let's keep Darnall’s memory alive and continue to support his family in their fight for justice.
Stay safe, everyone.
