Hey everyone,

I've been following the case of Mayron Collier, and there's something that's been on my mind about the neighborhood dynamics where the shooting happened. I read that it took place in the West Pullman area on South Yale Avenue, and I can’t help but think about the broader context of what's been going on there.
From what I gather, this area has seen its fair share of challenges with gun violence, which obviously impacts the community deeply. It makes me wonder how much is being done to truly support and uplift these neighborhoods in the long run, beyond just addressing gun violence when it happens.
Mayron’s loss is a devastating blow to his family and friends, but it also affects the whole community. I'm curious if there are any local initiatives that have been started to create safer environments or any public forums where community members can voice their concerns and push for change. It's crucial, not only for justice in cases like this but also for preventative measures so fewer families have to experience such tragedies.
Anyone local here have insights or know of community meetings addressing these issues? Sending all my thoughts to Mayron’s loved ones during this really difficult time.
