I’ve been thinking a lot about the March 2014 murder of Augusta "Gus" Mims ever since I stumbled upon it last week. One detail that really stands out to me is how he somehow made it all the way to Carney Hospital after being stabbed. That speaks volumes about his strength and will to survive. He must have had so much fight in him, probably thinking about Aniyah and wanting to see her again. It's such a somber reminder of how quickly things can change and the resilience some people have in the face of unimaginable pain. I can’t even begin to imagine the courage it took for him to press on after being injured that badly. It makes me hope that those responsible are found and held accountable, not just for Gus and his family, but for all the people who loved him. If anyone has even the smallest piece of information, I hope they come forward. His family, especially Aniyah, deserves to know the truth.

Has anyone been following Gus Mims' case? It's been so long, and it feels like his family is still searching for answers. I recently read that he was stabbed on Washington Street and managed to get to Carney Hospital, but sadly he didn't make it. It's so terrible to think about his young daughter growing up without her father. I can't imagine the grief his family must be going through year after year without closure. With how tight-knit the community can be, I hope someone out there has the courage to come forward with information. Has there been any recent news or updates from the police? It’s unsettling that this remains unresolved.
