I’ve been thinking a lot about Anton McDaniels Jr. and his family lately. It breaks my heart to imagine what they’re going through, losing such a bright young life in such a senseless way. A straight-A student, talented athlete, and a son who had so much potential, it’s a devastating loss not just for his family but for the whole community. I’m curious about the community’s role after this tragic event. Does anyone know if there have been any memorial events or community actions taken to support the McDaniels family and address gun violence in East St. Louis? It seems like incidents like these have a ripple effect, and community support could make a world of difference for the family and bring some positive change. It must be so incredibly difficult for them, but I hope they know they're not alone in this.
