Did anyone else notice how the media coverage barely touched on the personal side of things for Xinling "Bill" Zhang? I’ve been reading about the case, and it’s truly distressing to think about how his family must be coping with such a devastating loss. They’ve lost a loved one to a senseless act, and it doesn't seem like they got much of a voice in the public discussion afterwards.
It's like once the basic facts came out, there was this focus on the incident itself and the idea of workplace rivalry, but there's a human being who was at the center of all that and whose life was unjustly taken. It might be cold comfort to know the police ruled out any other suspects, but I can't help but feel that we owe it to Xinling's family to remember him as more than just a part of a news story.
