Did anyone else catch the recent update on the arrest of Robert Morales? It's upsetting to think about how a community can be so deeply impacted by one person's reckless actions. I'm amazed they made a break in the case when Morales shot himself in the arm. It's almost chilling to think about how his own mistake was what led to his apprehension. It just goes to show how reckless and thoughtless these acts of violence are. Leonardo's family must be going through so much. I can’t even imagine the pain and confusion they’re feeling right now. It's crucial that we keep raising awareness and pressure to curb the gang violence in neighborhoods like Back of the Yards. We owe it to kids like Leonardo to keep these conversations going and push for real change in community safety. Sending strength to all those affected.
