Has anyone else been reflecting on the role that expressway shootings have in all this chaos? Jonathon Ortiz was not only a promising artist, loved by many, but also a victim of what's becoming a disturbing norm. It’s just so infuriating and sad that something as simple as driving down the expressway turned fatal for him. His family must be devastated not just by their loss but by the lack of resolution in the case.
Expressways should be safe passages, not crime scenes. Why are these attacks so persistent, and are there any effective strategies in place to prevent them? If anyone has insight or suggestions on how these issues are being addressed, it could bring some peace to families affected by such senseless violence. RIP Jonathon. You're missed.
Hey everyone,
I've been following Jonathon Ortiz's case closely, and something that really caught my attention was the role of Chicago's expressways in these tragic events. Knowing there were 47 shootings on the expressways in 2016 alone is pretty terrifying. It's unsettling to think about the risk people face just driving down a highway, something most of us take for granted every day.
What really stands out to me is how this problem seems to fly under the radar until a high-profile case like Jonathon's happens. It's like, when are we going to start seriously addressing the expressway violence in the city? The fact that a young talent like Jonathon—known as John Doe in the music scene—was targeted in such a brazen way shows just how out of hand things have gotten.
My heart goes out to his mother, Jacqueline Ortiz, and the whole family. Offering a reward for information is a brave and desperate attempt to find justice in a time of such deep pain. Hopefully, this reminder of the dangers these roads pose will spark more efforts to protect our community. Does anyone know if there are any initiatives being pushed forward to tackle this issue, or any community efforts by friends and family to honor his memory in a way that sheds light on this concern?
Stay safe out there, everyone. Let's keep his loved ones in our thoughts.
Peace,

I've been thinking a lot about the potential witnesses who were on the Eisenhower Expressway the morning Jonathon Ortiz was killed. Given the time of day, there must have been at least a few drivers who saw or heard something that could be crucial to solving this case.
I can't help but wonder if someone noticed a suspicious vehicle or an argument that seemed out of place. Even hearing gunshots at that hour should have raised alarms. It's frustrating to consider that a small piece of information could be out there, capable of bringing peace to Jonathon's family and justice to his memory.
Has anyone else thought about this angle or considered the role that surrounding traffic could play in unraveling what happened? It must be incredibly challenging for Jonathon's loved ones to carry on without answers. My heart goes out to them, and I sincerely hope anyone with information comes forward, no matter how insignificant it might seem.
