I was thinking about Dalton’s case and realized how crucial the initial hours are in a missing person's investigation. It’s so frustrating to think about how he wasn't dressed for the conditions and didn't have any survival gear. It makes me wonder about the intentions behind his decision to leave the camp like that. Did anyone check the weather reports from that week? Was there a sudden change in weather that he might have been unprepared for, not realizing how serious it could get in the Alaskan wilderness? It’s tough to piece things together, but any small detail might eventually help bring some clarity. Keeping Dalton and his family in my thoughts.
Has anyone else been following Dalton's case from Fairbanks? I can't stop thinking about how unsettling it is that he just walked away from the camp without any survival gear. The Dalton Highway is no joke, especially when it’s cold and unpredictable. It always puzzles me when someone disappears in such harsh conditions. Do any locals have thoughts on what the terrain is like around Mile 9? Maybe there's something unique about that area that could have hindered the search efforts. Any insight would be appreciated.
Hi everyone,
I've been following Dalton's case since he went missing back in 2015 near Mile 9 of Dalton Highway. Something I've been wondering about is the timeline of the search efforts. From what I can gather, the search started pretty promptly on 9/10, just one day after he disappeared, which is great. However, it only lasted until 9/18. Does anyone have insights into why the search was ended? Was it weather-related, or possibly due to the terrain being too difficult?
I feel like with the lack of survival gear, every day counted, so just thinking about how it all played out makes me curious. If anyone has more details or theories, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
