I've been digging into the Mitchell case again, and something that really stands out to me is the location where his truck was found. It's at a lake south of Girdwood, near mile marker 87.5 on the Seward Highway. That's not exactly a place you'd just accidentally end up, especially considering the "steep and treacherous" terrain. Did anyone ever pinpoint why he might have headed in that direction? The truck being found there is baffling. Maybe there was something about that spot which was personal or significant to him? It just seems odd that he would leave behind his essentials, drive out there, and then suddenly vanish without a trace. I'm also curious if this area has any history of being involved in other similar cases. Thoughts?
