Anyone else baffled by the coat and shoes that Francisco left behind? I’ve seen this brought up before, but it still puzzles me. Leaving markers in hopes of being found makes sense, but why a coat and shoes, especially when you're lost in rough terrain? Was it a desperate move, or did he think rescuers were close by? I can’t imagine being in his situation—separated, frightened, and trying to leave signs for help. It’s been years, and this case still haunts me. Does anyone know if search efforts ever focused specifically around those markers?
