I’ve been following the tragic case of Deveon Hunt and it’s just so troubling on multiple levels. My heart goes out to his family and friends during such a difficult time. What stands out to me is the whole issue of how minors are handled in the criminal justice system. Quantez Jones being charged as an adult is a heavy decision. It really makes me wonder about the line that gets crossed for such a severe charge. Should there be more focus on prevention and community intervention before it gets to this point? It’s devastating to think about the potential both these young lives had before this terrible incident occurred. Wishing strength and peace to all those affected.
