Has anyone else been following the updates on Bret Snow's case? I can't stop thinking about the use of forensic genetic genealogy to identify his remains. It really shows how much technology has advanced in recent years. I remember when they first found those skull fragments in the Spokane River—there was so much speculation about who they belonged to. It took a few years, but they eventually provided some answers for Bret's family. It must be such a small comfort in a tragic situation, but I hope this technology can help other families as well. Does anyone have thoughts on how cases like this might be impacted by continuing advances in forensic science?
I’ve been following Bret Snow’s case closely, and something that really stands out to me is the use of forensic genetic genealogy to identify him. It's amazing that advancements in science are helping bring some form of closure to his family and community after such a long time. The technology has come a long way, and it seems to offer a bit of hope for other cold cases too. It’s just so bittersweet because while they identified parts of Bret, they’re still missing so much more. Does anyone know if there have been other cases locally where this technology made a big difference? It's fascinating, but also makes you wonder how many more cases might eventually find answers through these methods.
