Has anyone else been following the case of Colette Carmen and Johnny McQueen? I've been thinking a lot about the roles neighborhood dynamics might have played in this tragedy. North Lawndale has its challenges, but also a tight-knit community. It's so hard to believe that something this terrible could happen without anyone witnessing or catching wind of who might be responsible. I feel for Colette and Johnny's family and friends, left with so many unanswered questions. With no leads or suspects, it just highlights the difficulty police face despite the community's close bonds. If anyone has insight into how neighbors might help in these situations—or the hurdles they might face when coming forward—I'd love to hear your thoughts. Let's keep this conversation going in hopes that it might eventually lead to breakthrough information for justice. ?
I've been thinking about Colette Carmen and how quiet her neighborhood in North Lawndale must feel now. Neighbors mentioned she had this huge garden out back, and it just breaks my heart to imagine her tending to it with such care only for things to end so tragically. From what I've read, she used to share the produce with neighbors and friends, walking around with baskets full of fresh veggies. It's these small, everyday kindnesses that make her absence so profound.
It’s infuriating to think there has been no resolution or answers yet. I can't imagine the frustration and sadness her family and closest friends must feel, waiting for justice that seems so elusive. If anyone in the community knows anything, however small it might seem, I hope they find the courage to share it. This shouldn't just fade away; Colette and Johnny deserve answers, and so does their community.
