Cory's funeral service was absolutely packed, which really speaks volumes about the kind of person he was and how deeply he touched everyone around him. It's so moving to see how his friends and family are keeping his memory alive, despite the immense pain they're going through. I know there have been discussions about his involvement in an altercation before the tragic incident, but I can't help but feel frustrated by the lack of focus on who Cory was outside of that terrible day. He loved basketball and was always seen shooting hoops with the neighborhood kids, giving them pointers and encouraging them to stay on the right path. With so much attention on violence and unsolved cases, I hope people remember that Cory was more than just a victim. He was loved, cherished, and part of a community. Praying that his family finds peace and justice soon.
Has anyone else been keeping up with the latest on Cory Hicks' case? It’s really upsetting to see another unsolved homicide in Chicago. I read somewhere that the neighborhood where it happened is struggling with a lot of violence and fear of retaliation is making it hard for the community to speak up.
I just can’t help but think about the impact this has on Cory's family and friends. Not only did they lose someone they cared about, but they're also left in the dark, waiting for answers. It's like they’re stuck in limbo.
It's times like these when we wish more people would come forward and share what they know, despite the risks. Until we can foster a stronger sense of safety and trust in these communities, we're going to keep seeing families suffering without closure. If anyone here is from the area or knows someone who might have information, it's so important to share what you can with the investigators. Cory deserves justice, and his family deserves peace.
