I've been following the case of Derrick Weasley, and something that's been on my mind is the role of community surveillance. I've read that the area around South Vincennes has some security cameras, but I haven’t seen any updates on whether footage was gathered or if it helped in any way. It makes me wonder how much of a difference community surveillance can make in these cases.
If anyone from the neighborhood has insights, it would be great to hear your thoughts. Were there efforts to review any camera footage, either by local businesses or residents? I hope the community can come together to support Derrick's family, both by sharing any potentially helpful information and by standing in solidarity against the violence plaguing the area. My heart goes out to Derrick's family and friends; no one should ever have to endure such a tragic loss.

I've been thinking a lot about how hard it must be for Derrick Weasley's family to go through this without any clear answers. One thing that stands out to me is how Derrick was living in the Park Manor neighborhood while the incident happened in Bronzeville. It's not too far apart, but it makes me wonder if there’s something specific about that area that could give more insight into what happened that day.
It’s devastating to see how gun violence continues to impact communities, and without any suspects or substantial leads, it feels like they're stuck in limbo. I can’t even begin to imagine the pain his loved ones must be feeling. Has anyone heard if there were any witnesses in Bronzeville who might have seen something or if there's any new community initiative trying to push for more information to come forward?
