I came across Steven Alexander Jr.'s case while browsing for updates today, and I'm really struck by the fact that this young man never got the chance to see his daughter grow up. It's just so sad. I think about Father's Day, which he was just days away from experiencing for the first time. As someone with a young family myself, I can't imagine missing those moments. It seems so unfair that a petty dispute over drug territory could escalate into such a senseless tragedy. I feel for his daughter who will have to grow up without her dad's joyful presence. I hope his family finds strength in their memories of him, and I admire the community for rallying around them in their time of need. It’s important we keep sharing Steven’s story to keep his memory alive. How do folks here cope with the feeling of loss when justice doesn’t seem to fill the void left by such senseless violence?
