Does anyone else find it curious about the potential sightings of Raymond Hickman near Highway 101 on the day he disappeared? If those sightings were accurate, it suggests he wandered quite a distance from his usual walking paths. Given his Alzheimer's, it must've been a disorienting situation for him. I wonder if there's any chance he tried seeking help but couldn't effectively communicate. It'd be helpful if folks who travel that stretch regularly could keep an eye out or think back to that day in 2016. Anything that might jog a memory could be crucial.
Has anyone else noticed how often dementia and Alzheimer's patients seem to go missing? It's so troubling to think about how easily someone can wander off and not be able to find their way back, especially in an area like Cannon Beach with its dense forests and tricky terrain. With Raymond Hickman's case, it's particularly worrying given the sightings near Highway 101. That road can be dangerous for anyone, let alone someone who may be confused or disoriented. I wonder if more could be done to monitor vulnerable individuals who love their daily walks but might need a bit of guidance to stay safe. Any ideas on new tech or community initiatives that could help prevent these situations?
Has anyone looked into the weather on the day Raymond Hickman disappeared? Cannon Beach in January can be pretty unpredictable, and I'm wondering if adverse conditions might have played a role. If he left for his walk at 11:30 a.m., he might have been out when weather shifted. For someone dealing with Alzheimer's, sudden changes could be disorienting or dangerous. I couldn’t find any info on this aspect so far. Maybe it's something that got overlooked or wasn’t considered in the initial search efforts? Just a thought.
