I've been following the case of Martrice Lee Luster and Keshonda Maxey, and something that's really stuck with me is how deeply these senseless acts impact the children left behind. Martrice's son and Keshonda's daughter now have to grow up without their parents, and it's incredibly painful to think about. At their young ages, how do you even begin to explain why their mom or dad isn't coming home? It makes me wonder about the support systems that might be in place for these kids and their guardians. I hope they’re surrounded by love and care from family and friends to help them through such a difficult time. Anyone know if there have been any community efforts to support the kids or the families? It seems like moments like these remind us all of the importance of community strength and resilience.
