I've been following the tragic case of Diomar Rangel, and one detail that's been haunting me is the issue of electronic monitoring. It's so disheartening to see someone like Israel Villegas, with such a long history of violent crime, still able to roam free under this system. Even with advanced ankle bracelets, it seems there are gaps that need addressing, especially when we see a preventable tragedy like this one occur. My heart goes out to Diomar's family and friends, who must be grappling not only with their incredible loss but also with the knowledge that the system failed to keep a dangerous individual off the streets. I can't help but wonder how many other potentially risky situations are out there due to similar oversights. How does everyone else feel about the flaws in electronic monitoring? Could reforms help prevent future tragedies?
