It's really upsetting to think about the ripple effect of violence, especially in a close-knit community like Maywood. While I'm relieved to hear about the arrest of Anthony Tillis, it’s hard not to think about how this incident has likely altered the course of his life as well. It doesn’t excuse anything, but it makes me wonder about what we could be doing differently to prevent young people from ending up in these situations in the first place.
Father Pfleger and Scott's mother showing such strong determination is truly commendable. It seems like these issues are so engrained, and even when justice is served, there’s still so much pain on all sides. My thoughts are with Isiah’s family; losing someone in this way is something no parent should endure. I hope the community can heal and come together to create more opportunities and safe spaces for everyone, especially the youth.
I can't stop thinking about Isiah and the senseless tragedy that took his life. It's beyond painful to imagine what his family, especially his mother Kisha, has been going through. I wanted to talk about how strong she appeared standing next to Father Pfleger during that press conference. It takes unimaginable courage to face the world with such grace when you're in so much pain. They're doing everything they can to keep Isiah's memory alive and seek justice for him. I'm heartened to see that someone has been arrested, but I know that doesn't bring Isiah back or ease the loss for his family. I hope Kisha and her family can find some peace in knowing that so many are standing with them, supporting and fighting alongside them to make sure Isiah’s story is heard and remembered.
