I've been following the tragic case of Christina Langston-Hill and her husband, and one detail that deeply bothers me is the role of witness testimony—or the lack thereof—in the judicial process. It seems so incredibly unjust that the charges against Kelvin Langston were dropped simply because witnesses refused to testify. I can't help but wonder about the pressure and fear those witnesses might be facing. Were they afraid of retaliation? Did they feel unsupported by law enforcement?
It's hard to imagine how Christina's family must be feeling, knowing that the judicial system couldn't proceed with charges due to these obstacles. It must be incredibly frustrating for them to see someone they believe committed this horrendous act avoid trial. For those of us who care about justice for Christina and Teon, it's so important to continue discussing these cases and advocating for systems that better protect witnesses. Ultimately, my heart goes out to their loved ones, who deserve closure and justice through this immensely challenging time.

My heart goes out to Christina and Teon's family, who must be grappling with the weight of unanswered questions.
