It’s truly devastating to think about Glenn Conley’s life being cut short so violently on North Gilmor Street. I can only imagine the lasting pain his family and friends must feel, knowing they might never see justice served. This area of Baltimore was facing so much turmoil back in 2007, and it’s infuriating how the combination of frequent violence and lack of community cooperation left many cases dangling unsolved. I read somewhere that even if people were fearful of coming forward, there could have been a path to break the silence, had there been more trust built between the community and law enforcement. The sheer volume of cases the police had on their hands must have been overwhelming, but the ripple effects of these unsolved cases linger. Glenn deserves more than just a statistic in a year marked by tragedy; he was a person whose life mattered deeply. Praying for peace for his loved ones and hoping for a breakthrough in his case someday.
