Remembering Tommy King III today, I came across some discussions about the lack of leads in his case, and it really got me thinking about the safety in that area of Decatur back in 2019. There seems to be a lot of speculation, but not much clarity on what was going on in the community at the time. This intersection, North MLK Jr. Drive and East Cantrell Street, was it known for any criminal activity during those days? Did anyone ever come forward who might have seen something? I can’t shake the feeling that someone out there knows something that might help police and Tommy’s loved ones find the answers they desperately need. I didn’t know Tommy personally, but as a fellow college student at the time, I can only imagine the impact this senseless act had on his peers at Harris-Stowe. It’s hopeful to see his friends and family continuing to push for answers. They deserve to have his killer brought to justice, and I keep thinking about how every bit of information, no matter how small, could make a difference. If there’s anyone from the Decatur community here, did you notice anything specific about the tension or community dynamics at that time?

I've been following Tommy King III's case since it happened, and my thoughts go out to his family and friends who are still searching for answers. What's been eating at me recently is how on that night, there were reportedly several people in the area who might've seen or heard something. In these close-knit neighborhoods, it seems unlikely that no one saw anything suspicious. My hope is that someone decides to come forward with information, even if they think it's minor—every detail could help. Sharing what you know might be difficult, but it could be crucial for getting justice for Tommy and bringing some comfort to his grieving family. It's hard to imagine the pain they must be feeling, and they deserve to see this case resolved.
