I've been following the Jerry Montgomery case closely and I'm so struck by the tragedy of it all. It's so upsetting to think about how he was just walking down the street, living his life like any of us, when everything was taken from him in an instant. Jerry leaves behind friends and family who have to process such a sudden loss, and my heart goes out to each one of them. The fact that it all happened because someone chose to fire a gun indiscriminately is just beyond comprehension. I'm curious about the community's thoughts on initiatives aimed at reducing gun violence in areas like Austin. Clearly, more needs to be done to prevent senseless tragedies like this one. Does anyone know if Jerry's family has spoken out on what they hope to see change moving forward? Any updates on community responses or initiatives would be appreciated.
