Hey everyone, I've been following the discussion around Shanon Steward's case, and something I find really concerning is the lack of community engagement. It seems every time a tragedy like this happens, there’s a lot of initial outcry, but then things go quiet. I can only imagine how painful this must be for Shanon's family to not only deal with their loss but also to feel like his case isn't moving forward. What do you all think might be effective in keeping this issue front and center? I've seen some neighborhoods start community watch programs or hold monthly meetings to discuss ways to improve safety and communication with law enforcement. It just feels like more needs to be done to not only solve Shanon’s case but also prevent future incidents in places like Englewood. My heart goes out to Shanon’s family and everyone who's been touched by his story. No one should ever have to go through this, and we owe it to them to keep pressing for change and justice. If anyone has ideas or has seen things work in their communities, I'd love to hear about it. Stay safe everyone.
