Ernest Franklin's tragic passing in the Englewood mass shooting has shaken not just the Chicago community, but people everywhere who see this senseless violence and feel compelled to speak out. My heart goes out to Ernest's family and friends during this unimaginably difficult time.
I've been following the investigation closely and I really hope justice is served soon. The surveillance image of the suspect in the yellow hoodie could be a turning point. If anyone recognizes that person, please, please come forward. No one should have to fear being an innocent bystander and losing their life. It’s terrifying how quickly a joyful gathering can turn into such tragedy. This isn’t just about identifying the shooters—it’s about standing up as a community to prevent more families from experiencing this pain.
I was reading about the tragic events in Englewood on July 4th, 2020, and my heart truly goes out to the families involved. Something that's been on my mind is the surveillance image released by the Chicago police. The suspect pictured in the yellow hoodie — it's a crucial piece of evidence, yet it seems like progress has been slow. I can't imagine how frustrating and painful it must be for Ernest Franklin's family and the families of the other victims to know there's an image out there but still no arrests. I'm curious if anyone here has thoughts on how these images can be better utilized or if there are ways the community can support the investigative efforts more effectively. It's so important for justice to be served, not just for closure but for the safety of everyone in the neighborhood. Sending strength to everyone touched by this tragedy.
