Has anyone else been following the Nancy Schmidt case from Baltimore? It's been 15 years since her tragic death, and I'm still thinking about how unsettling it must have been for her neighbors to hear those screams that early morning. It makes me so sad to think about the fear she must have felt. I read that she was such a kind soul, still caring for others even though she had lost her husband not long before.
I can’t imagine why someone would have wanted to harm her. It’s terrifying to think that no motive has been identified, which implies how random and shocking violence can be. It makes me wonder if more could have been done to help make the area safer back then. She lived in a neighborhood that was supposedly on the up but still had its dangers.
Does anyone have any theories about how this might connect to other incidents in the area during that time? Or, did anyone know Schmidt personally and have any stories to share about her? I think it’s important that we keep discussing her case and others like it, not just to remember and honor her, but to hopefully insight some new leads or ideas that might make a difference today.
