Hester Maynard Keith Jr., a 47-year-old man from Wake County, North Carolina, was last seen on February 18, 1988. He spoke to his secretary over the phone that morning, mentioning plans to travel to Sanford, North Carolina, and later attend a boat show in Raleigh. However, he never arrived at either location, and no one heard from him again. Keith's blue and silver pickup truck was later discovered abandoned in a wooded area near the Jordan Lake dam, raising suspicions about foul play.
