Has anyone else been keeping up with the shocking details of the Joel Jenkins case? Beyond the personal tragedy and the loss felt by those who knew Joel, I can't stop thinking about the role of technology in solving this horrendous act. The surveillance footage was absolutely instrumental in catching the suspect, Dylan Young. It’s both fascinating and chilling to think that the same technology meant to promote safety every day was key in identifying someone responsible for such a senseless act of violence. It's just so devastating that we live in a time where we rely on cameras to try to keep communities safe, yet they also reveal just how unsafe these areas can be. My heart goes out to Joel's loved ones as they face such an unimaginable loss. It’s a stark reminder of the ongoing issue of gun violence we really need to tackle.
