I came across news of the shooting on South Claremont Avenue, and it feels like yet another senseless act of violence in a neighborhood that deserves so much better. My heart goes out to Jerome Darrell Rushing's family and friends, as well as the others who were injured. I can't imagine the pain they must be going through right now. It's just so frustrating to see these crimes affecting the community time and time again, ripping apart families and causing so much grief. Does anyone know if there's been any word from the police about potential motives? I really hope that someone comes forward with information soon. It's unsettling to think that the perpetrators are still out there. People deserve to feel safe in their own streets. This violence has to stop. If anyone knows Jerome's family, please pass on that there's a community here that's thinking of them and urging for justice.
