I recently started researching the Broach case and something I'm curious about is the surrounding area of the Winner Creek Trail. From what I gather, it's a popular spot with clear paths, so it just baffles me how someone could disappear without a trace there. Are there any known hazards or spots off the main trail where someone could easily get lost or injured? Also, was the weather around his disappearance ever mentioned? Sudden changes in weather can have a significant impact, especially in places like Alaska. Curious if anyone here has any local insights or personal experiences with that trail.

Has anyone looked into the conditions on the Winner Creek Trail around the time Broach went missing? I've been trying to map out what the weather was like on August 2, 2016, in Girdwood, Alaska, and from what I can gather, the temperatures were mild, but there might have been some rain. I'm wondering if maybe the weather could have been a factor—like if rain washed away some of his tracks or if he could have slipped somewhere off the trail. It just seems odd that such a well-traveled trail wouldn't yield more clues. Does anyone have more information from those days from either local reports or firsthand experiences hiking in that weather? Maybe there are small details that haven’t been considered yet due to the conditions at the time.

Has anyone else delved into the weather conditions on August 2nd when Broach went missing? I've read multiple accounts of how trails like Winner Creek can become quite challenging, even when they seem easy in normal conditions. If rain or a sudden change in weather occurred that evening, it might have caught him off guard. From what I understand, the area can get pretty slippery and disorienting really fast with a bit of rain. It’d be interesting to know if anyone has weather data from that day or personal experience hiking there during unpredictable weather. Could this have played a role in his disappearance, or am I reaching?
