I've been following the case of Jessica and Damien Beal, and I can't stop thinking about the role that the criminal justice system played in all of this. Clarence Hebron's record is alarming, to say the least. How was he even out on bail with such a background? It just seems like there were so many red flags that went ignored. I read about his 2007 conviction and his pending charges at the time of the murders, and it makes my heart ache for the Beal family knowing this could have possibly been prevented. It’s a harsh reminder of how the system sometimes fails the victims. My thoughts are with Jessica and Damien’s family as they navigate this terrible loss. I hope they find peace and justice, and that society learns from such nightmares so that other families don’t have to endure this kind of pain in the future.
